Your Authorized BAHA Providers

Bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHA) can be a great option for people with conductive, mixed, or unilateral hearing loss, including single-sided deafness (SSD), who aren’t good candidates for traditional hearing aids. They may also work well for those with physical differences or malformations of the outer ear and ear canal. What are Bone-Anchored Hearing Aids?

Bone-anchored hearing aids, also called bone-anchored hearing systems (BAHS), typically consists of:

  • A small titanium implant that’s surgically embedded in the skull behind the ear;
  • An abutment (connector) that sticks out of the skin slightly;
  • An external sound processor that attaches to the connector.

There are also non-surgical systems that use a softband to hold the processor in place. In either case, the processor picks up sounds around you and transmits the sound waves through the bones of your skull directly into the inner ear.
